Beneath the Deep Ice

I was once a princess of Dahua. At fifteen, my father betrothed me to Guan Yanfa, a hostage prince from the State of Yan.

In reality, Guan Yanfa was the crown prince of the State of Han.

I was unwilling and deeply humiliated. I didn't want to be confined to a harem, surrounded by women.

But the icy blade held to my throat left me no choice but to submit to fate.

The only man I ever loved was known to me only by his alias, Yushi.

A spirited young man descended from the founding Dragon Martial General, he remained steadfast after the fall of our nation, dying with ten thousand swords piercing his heart.

My own fate was to be sealed in an ice coffin, my hands and feet bound tightly in chains,

then cast into the freezing sea.

I hate Guan Yanfa. If I could live again, I would never let him deceive me.

My father would not turn against me, and my younger brother would not be transformed into a human pig by him.

“Guan Yanfa, you heartless, immoral monster! Do you even have a heart?”

Guan Yanfa sneered at Xue Bingwei, who had been subjected to the most extreme punishment.

“Xue Bingwei, didn't your father tell you not to trust a man's words?”
