Chapter 96: That night, Li Ming was fast asleep when he suddenly found himself surrounded by a thick fog. The Ghost Immortal appeared before him.
The Ghost Immortal said solemnly, "Li Ming, a mother and her child were murdered by evil men and became a vengeful mother-and-child spirit, their resentment overflowing. I know you are kindhearted, so I have come to you in a dream. I hope you can help soothe their resentment. Afterward, come down with me."
Li Ming was startled, but he nodded firmly. "Lord Ghost Immortal, I'll do everything I can."
The Ghost Immortal gave a slight nod, then gradually faded away. The fog dissipated along with him.
Li Ming jolted awake, his forehead covered in sweat. Remembering the Ghost Immortal's request, he knew a difficult task awaited him.
Li Ming headed in the direction the Ghost Immortal had indicated, feeling nervous but determined along the way. He started a livestream and said to the camera, "Friends, the Ghost Immortal came to me in a dream and asked me to soothe the resentment of a vengeful mother-and-child spirit. I'm on my way to the destination now."
The livestream chat immediately came alive.
"Li Ming, be careful!"
"This is so thrilling. Can't wait to see how you do!"
Li Ming took a deep breath and kept going. The surroundings grew increasingly eerie, and gusts of cold wind blew past.
"This place feels so scary." Li Ming's voice trembled a little, but he still tried to sound calm.
Suddenly, the branches by the roadside began to sway, creaking loudly.
"Ah!" Li Ming couldn't help crying out.
The viewers in the livestream chat grew tense too.
"What happened? Li Ming, what's going on?"
