Farming: My Husband Is the One on Top

In the first year of the Dayong era, spring arrived. The chaos of war had ended, and at last the people could recover and rebuild.

Qingning Village was remote, nestled between mountains and water. Its location had spared it from the fighting, but decades of war and the constant threat of bandits had still left its population depleted and its fields abandoned.

That summer, torrential rain fell for two straight months, causing floods across much of Huaian Prefecture.

Song Yun, known as Boss Song, had stayed up three days and nights writing code to help his supervisor, a major general, find a bug in the System. He suddenly died and transmigrated into the body of the drowned eight-year-old eldest son of the Song family’s second son in Qingning Village, Dayong.

He might have become twenty years younger in an instant, but his new father was a lame man who couldn’t do hard labor, his new mother was frail and sickly, and his little siblings were still tiny and crying for food... And their home had been swept away by the flood!

Boss Song: ...Fine. Eight is the perfect age to work hard!

His eldest cousin felt guilty about what had happened to the original owner, so he ordered his wife to look after him while he hid away at school and left everything to her.

His cousin’s wife was a young man who was beaten every day at home. His large, clear eyes were like a frightened deer’s, always full of self-doubt, timidity, and fear...

New to the place, Boss Song thought: You saved my life, and I can never repay you. I’ll silently protect my young sister-in-law.

Later... “The best way to repay a life-saving favor is to give yourself to your savior!”

“That little fatty from Lame Song’s family really is a little thug. He’s fooling around with his own sister-in-law!”

“Maybe the near-drowning scrambled his brains. He’s so young, and already sleeping around?”

“That brat hasn’t even grown a hair yet. How could he know what a child bride is? Who knows how he’s mistreating the poor thing!”

Rumors and gossip ran rampant.

Years later, the villagers said: ...Oh my! They say merchants care more about profit than their partners, so why hasn’t Boss Song divorced his husband yet?
