The Eerie Pengjiahe Village

The old man glanced at Guan Shui, his expression turning grave. "Someone was murdered in that cave dwelling, many years ago. A young woman was found dead inside, her head cut off. But the strange thing was, the door and windows were all locked tight from the inside. No one could get in or out. It was like a sealed room. Ever since then, whenever anyone passes by that cave at night, they hear strange noises. Even the livestock in the village won't go near it. And every Ghost Festival, the villagers scatter a ring of wheat bran in front of the cave. It's our local custom, meant to ward off ghosts and evil spirits. But even so, the place still feels terribly eerie."

Sun Maoshu couldn't help shivering and instinctively edged closer to Guan Shui. Guan Shui, meanwhile, fell into thought. A headless female corpse in a sealed room: this was clearly a case full of mysteries.
