Twilight in the Forbidden City

Although there are many opinions in this book that I do not agree with, and there are many biases and errors, it can be seen that Johnston is still very proud of his status as "imperial teacher". To Puyi, he is a qualified teacher, and at least he cares about his physical and mental health.

This book is very special. It allowed me to see a different Forbidden City. Mr. Johnston described the historical details so vividly that I felt like I could also experience the scene at that time. Moreover, the teacher-student relationship between him and Puyi is also very touching. Mr. Johnston continued to help him in such difficult times. This book gave me a better understanding of that era and made me appreciate my current life more.
