The Wuxia Heroine of Maoshan

In a chaotic age ravaged by war and banditry, Yang Xueyu, a lay female disciple who once studied with the Maoshan Sect, protects the villagers with her martial arts and mystical techniques. She treats the sick and those possessed by evil spirits for free, and bravely takes it upon herself to punish the wicked and defend the innocent. One day, Xueyu finds Lian'er on the brink of death after the Sorcerer Daoists tortured her to drain her yin and replenish their yang. She rescues Lian'er and helps her recover. Lian'er tells her of the Sorcerer Daoists' crimes. Though Xueyu knows their power is formidable, she disguises herself as a man and infiltrates their ranks, successfully rescuing many women. But the sect's founder, the Sorcerer King, was once an outcast from Maoshan and recognizes Xueyu's Maoshan techniques. He sets a trap and captures her, shattering all her meridians except the one connected to her heart. He intends to exploit her virginity to drain her yin and replenish his yang. Caiyun helps Xueyu change her clothes and escape, but falls victim to the Sorcerer King's cruelty. Seriously wounded, Xueyu loses consciousness and is rescued by Lian'er, who hides her in an underground passage. The Sorcerer King sends men to burn down Lian'er's home. Later, Lian'er carries Xueyu to her grandmother, the Daoist nun Qingyang. Qingyang saves Xueyu's life with the “Spirit Heart Meridian Protection Mantra” and the “Calm Heart, Dispel Calamity Talisman,” and helps restore her meridians. After recovering, Xueyu learns the Maoshan Sect's ultimate art, the Nine Yin Cosmic Art, and uses it to kill the Sorcerer King. But his younger sister, the demoness Yao Ji, seeks revenge for her brother. She robs graves and absorbs yin energy to master the Nine Yin Evil Demon Art, causing even more women to suffer. After studying the art's characteristics, Xueyu waits until Yao Ji drinks deer blood to suppress her demonic nature, then kills her with Maoshan sword energy. At last, peace returns to the world, and Xueyu protects all people through her devotion to justice.
