1970s Military Marriage: The Alluring Beauty Knows How to Handle Her Husband

A star student from an etiquette training class transmigrates into a colleague’s period novel in one fell swoop. Fine, she’s transmigrated, but she didn’t even get a transmigration starter pack. Worse, she’s a bit-part cannon fodder who gets killed off as soon as she appears. Is she supposed to put up with that?

She’s no brilliant, capable heroine who can ace the college entrance exams and build a career. She can’t do either of those things.

All she wants is a comfortable life and a powerful patron, so she can stay home and live like a rich wife. So she puts every skill she learned in her previous life toward winning over Kyoto’s famous ascetic military commander.

No chance encounter? Then she’ll arrange one.

Not enough time together? Then she’ll make it happen.

No sparks? Then she’ll set the mood.

In short, wherever her sugar daddy needs her, Little Shen is there to serve.

Her motto: be there for him, right when he needs her.

After all that effort, all she gets is: “Comrade, please show some respect.”

Who could take that? She turns around and starts pursuing another man.

But when she stops trying, the world starts getting bizarre again.

The icy, fearsome commander suddenly becomes talkative.

Then he pins her against the wall and kisses her fiercely.

“Who said you could think about other men? You’ve got me wrapped around your finger, and you still dare to flirt with some young guy? You’re asking for it.”

The young woman can only whimper as he bullies her, too upset to get out a complete sentence.

She had only wanted to scrape by for the rest of her life, but suddenly she has a powerful patron, and even her wealthy uncle comes looking for her.

Before she knows it, she has also become an artist celebrated for both her talent and virtue.

So, should she keep working hard or not?

(A story about a troubled young woman growing up.)
