The Age of the Gods: Energy Is Scarce, So I Beg You Not to Evolve

Meng Yu grew up listening to stories about the ancient Supreme Gods. After the birth of the fourth Transcendent Being, that god's followers helped them regain their strength.

As a member of the new generation, Meng Yu longs to have a group of powerful, loyal followers and eventually grow into a Supreme Being who can hold up the heavens and stand firm upon the earth!

But when followers like that finally arrive, Meng Yu discovers that their upkeep is absurdly expensive!

A million tons of flesh are refined in an instant. A power plant fueled by tens of millions of units' worth of magical crystals burns through its entire supply in a single day. And the fortune painstakingly saved up melts away in a moment when he tries to rescue the mechanical species lost in the world's evolutionary deductions.

When Meng Yu realizes, to his dismay, that his followers are evolving in increasingly bizarre directions and have become one ravenous money-devouring beast after another, he finally sheds tears of regret: Please, stop evolving!
