Ordinary Life is a livestream show about everyday life. On Li Yu’s first day on the program, his client is a middle-aged man with a prior rape conviction who wants to share a place, insists his roommates be women, and wants them to be young.

Li Yu finds him a place that’s an absolutely perfect fit: the two female tenants are both under fifty combined, earning him a torrent of online abuse.

Cameraman: “You’ve really disappointed me. Don’t you know money can’t buy everything? Like, if you had to choose between a hundred million and your mother’s smile, what would you pick?”

Li Yu: “If I picked the hundred million, my mom would just laugh her head off!”

The director takes Li Yu abroad for an interview, but his phone gets stolen. He asks a local officer for help. After they search until dark and still can’t find it, the embarrassed director asks Li Yu to translate.

Director: “It’s just a phone. If you can’t find it, there’s no need to make such a fuss!”

Li Yu: “It’s just a phone. If you can’t find it, you’re all going to be in trouble!”

A certain host from a show that fawns over foreign countries says, “Who says Uncle Sam’s burgers are junk food? Take one apart. Is there anything wrong with the bread? The beef? The tomatoes? ... Everyone should eat burgers every day.”

Li Yu: “Every part of your body is finely engineered, and you’re still a piece of junk!”

Li Yu: “If memorizing all the answers in your head isn’t cheating, why is writing them on a tiny slip of paper cheating?”

He helps the director appear on a show called “Dear Friends and Family.” The results are explosive, the viewership skyrockets, and the director and producer end up behind bars.
