Ordinary young man Li Yibai accidentally enters a dreamlike vision of the Tang dynasty, and his fate becomes closely intertwined with that of the immortal poet Li Bai.
The Tang world seems like a dream: its ancient streets are bustling and picturesque, the air is filled with the aroma of mooncakes, calligraphy flows like serpents, and celebrations are lively and spectacular. Li Yibai and Li Bai drink together in a tavern and compose poems beneath the moon, like old friends reunited. Yet behind this beautiful scene, a secret seems to be lurking.
Before long, the tides turn. A treasonous plot by Li Linfu engulfs the imperial court, and Li Yibai and Li Bai brave a perilous underground passage. After narrowly escaping death, they uncover ironclad evidence and fight corrupt officials in the imposing court, restoring order to the government. Then enemy forces invade the border, and the flames of war soar into the sky. The two charge onto the battlefield without hesitation, using their blood and wits to defend the Tang realm. When they return victorious, Chang'an is flourishing, as if a golden age has truly dawned.
But Li Yibai notices something strange: his memories of the past are gradually fading, seeming both real and unreal.
It turns out that this Tang dynasty is a beautiful dream woven by people of the future from obsession and the spirit of antiquity. As it falls out of balance, signs of collapse emerge. Reality and illusion blur, and the course of history is thrown into disarray.
To uncover the truth and break through the mystery, the two embark on a perilous journey of discovery. A mysterious fragment lies hidden in Li Linfu's study, strange symbols are concealed on the border army's banners, and folk songs seem to contain vital clues. Yet danger lurks at every turn: shadowy figures launch surprise attacks, enemy troops close in, and corrupt officials make trouble... Can they gather the lost echoes of antiquity, solve the mystery, and awaken the Tang dynasty? Will they remain lost in illusion, or break free of their chains and return to reality?
