Your Majesty, Stop the Cruelty. Her Majesty Has Given Up

At the edge of a cliff, three thousand strands of black hair danced in the wind, and the red sleeves of her robes fluttered. The young king held out his hand, his voice icy: “Come here!” Was this heaven or hell? Amusement glinted in the woman's eyes as her red veil fluttered. She had once possessed beauty enough to captivate a kingdom, but now her face was covered in hideous scars. She pulled out the hairpin he had placed in her hair and slashed her cheek with it. Filthy blood splattered over her, scorching the eyes of three men and leaving an indelible mark on them for life. She had been the princess of the Huaxi Kingdom, asleep for eighteen years. Yet an unknown secret had made every man in the realm infatuated with her. She transmigrated here solely to find the face she had never forgotten across lifetimes. He was the ruler of the Yu Kingdom. He married her and gave her boundless affection, making everyone envious. He was the ruler of the Lanye Kingdom, bright as the stars. With a faint smile, he lifted her face and said, “How could ten thousand miles of kingdom compare to the vermilion mark at the corner of your eye?” Years later, war smoke rose. On the city tower, the woman played her zither, a light veil draped over her, her jade hands moving over the strings. “My husband is the gentlest, most refined man in the world.” She did not know that tears were already streaming down her face. Beneath a city full of pear blossoms falling like snow, one glance from her could bring a kingdom to its knees.
