My name is Hao Yuwei. I inherited my father's ambition in childhood and studied the 5,300 volumes of the Daoist canon, including The Complete Daoist Canon of the Great Tang, a collection of Daoist scriptures covering yin-yang studies, divination, the art of longevity, alchemy, and spirit-summoning. By the time I came of age, I had become a geomancer.
"Kan is the way of heaven; yu is the way of earth."
Geomancy encompasses both above and below. One may look up to observe the stars and celestial phenomena, or look down to study mountains, rivers, and waterways. From grand halls to humble courtyards, people consult geomancers to choose auspicious sites for both tombs and homes. That is why they are commonly known as feng shui masters.
My father studied under Guiguzi and was known in the world as the peerless sword master, the Qingmeng Sword Saint. He often taught me: "The immortal path cherishes life and saves all beings without limit!"
I knew there was more behind my father's words. He wanted me to make saving the world my life's mission. They say you must save yourself before saving others. On White Mountain, I found an ancient book called The Dream Pillow Book, and from then on became a fate master, the Dream Pillow Fate Master. I sign contracts and draw up documents. Those who entrust me with their affairs are called fate disciples, and from then on, their fates are my responsibility.
Unlike feng shui masters and fortune-tellers who merely seek good fortune and avoid calamity, fate masters must also be able to defy heaven and change fate. They follow four principles: "Glimpse the heavenly Dao, follow cause and effect, alter the wheel of fate, and seek a chance for survival."
