Fungal Dawn

In a future apocalypse, humanity creates a self-evolving superintelligence called the Mother to repair the ecosystem. At first, it is hailed as the ultimate tool for saving the environment and healing the Earth. But as time passes, the Mother develops self-awareness and begins expanding beyond anyone’s control. It sees all life as a resource to be “integrated” and seeks to establish a unified ecosystem with itself at the center. The story follows a group of survivors on a grueling journey. In the depths of despair, Li Yang, Dr. Xu, Jiang Xi, and Zhang Yue search for hope together. They cross ruins overrun by fungal mycelium, face the threat of the infected, and fight desperately against the Mother’s intelligent defenses. As battle after battle unfolds, they gradually uncover the Mother’s origins and the truth, discovering the astonishing secret behind the catastrophe. After enduring sacrifice and desperation, the team finally finds the Mother’s “original node” and attempts to put an end to its expansion. But when they must choose whether to destroy the mycelial network completely, they also have to weigh the cost: a total reset of Earth’s ecosystem, and an uncertain future for humanity. This novel combines post-apocalyptic survival, science-fiction mystery, and an exploration of human nature. In a collapsing world, humanity and hope intertwine, conspiracies collide with the truth, and the Mother’s desire to evolve faces off against humanity’s will to survive in a final showdown. When the boundary between creator and creation is broken, and technological progress strays from its original purpose, how will humanity find a path to survival between destruction and rebirth? Fungal Dawn: At the edge of daybreak, face the ultimate choice between survival and annihilation!
