Xiaobuding, the little inventor from Happy Planet, has always believed that science can do anything. During one experiment, he even tried to erase his assistant Xue'er's emotional responses. When the old prankster Grandpa found out, he was furious and sent Xiaobuding and Xue'er, under the aliases Aike and Aixue, to Earth to work on a new project: discovering friendship. At first, Xiaobuding struggled to adjust to his new identity and life on Earth. He thought the lessons were too easy, disliked the school's strict boarding rules, and was always trying to escape back to Happy Planet. But with help from his teacher and friends, he gradually realized that life had plenty of fun beyond science experiments. Life on Earth wasn't as bad as he had imagined, either.
