I have read a lot of books about Journey to the West, most of which are mainly comedy. This is one of the only Journey to the West books I've read that isn't funny. What I can see is that the writer is very attentive and writes deep things. It uses the guise of Journey to the West as a metaphor for the past and satirizes the present, and has been well received.
This book is not bad, much better than those bullshit Journey to the West. The logic is clear and the writing is excellent.
