After My Kingdom Fell, the Enemy Prince Took Me Away

“I love that look in your eyes, when you hate me to the point of madness but can't kill me. It makes me want to spoil you rotten.”

The darkly cunning prince pinched his delicate chin and spoke with contempt.

[A possessive, controlling, and cunning prince x A beautiful, loyal general who endures humiliation]

The Li Kingdom fell, and Ning Haitang, its young general, was captured by Duan Yiwei, the very man who had destroyed his country.

Duan Yiwei was the seventh prince of the Yun Kingdom, a duke who protected the nation, and a hero who ended the wars and led the people toward peace.

Everyone admired him. Ning Haitang alone hated him with a passion that drove him mad.

Ning Haitang tried to escape. When he failed, Duan Yiwei forced him to kneel and beg for mercy.

Ning Haitang tried to kill Duan Yiwei. When he failed, Duan Yiwei retaliated by killing someone Ning Haitang held dear.

Eventually, he learned to behave and obey, deciding to get along with Duan Yiwei while waiting for the right moment.

But as he waited, his heart, set on revenge, still melted under Duan Yiwei's false tenderness.

Not only did he fall for Duan Yiwei, he was also completely taken in by him.

In the end, once Duan Yiwei had tired of him, he casually gave him away.

A heart that had already been broken was finally dead.

Duan Yiwei thought he would never fall in love with anyone in his life.

The objects of his desire only held his interest for three days. Once he tired of them, he discarded them without a second thought.

But after losing his composure over Ning Haitang time and again, he finally understood.

So...

He had been in love with him all along.

A deliciously angsty, sweet-and-bitter story: a slap followed by a sweet treat, with a happy ending.
