Synopsis

(Complete) [Two powerful leads who dote on each other + mutual devotion + proud, seductive bottom in a position of power vs. younger, fatherly, scheming top]

Fire consumed the palace, the lords breached the imperial city, and the land descended into chaos.

Xuan Yuanxian knelt before the new emperor and, in the blink of an eye, became the new emperor’s tutor.

Six years passed in a flash. Seven men took the throne, and the court officials changed again and again.

Only he remained firmly in his position as imperial tutor.

“My lord, an army of one hundred thousand has launched a surprise attack on the imperial city. They’re about to storm the palace.”

“The old emperor was assassinated. I knelt to welcome each new emperor, and nothing has changed in six years. What is there to panic about?”

“The one leading the army into the imperial city is the Marquis of Xisu, Bai Li Tan.”

The music faltered, and the strings snapped.

He changed out of his fine robes and into coarse clothes, leaving the main hall for a poor alley.

Since the one coming was Bai Li Tan, he had other ways of welcoming him.

Bai Li Tan ruled the wilds of Xisu. Even dogs called him “Lord Tan” when they saw him.

But he was also a coward who would hide under the covers and cry at the mere mention of the crown prince’s name.

Just when he’d finally learned to hold back his tears, that damned Xuan Yuanxian summoned him to Chang’an to study!

With his ironclad resolve, how could he turn down a little hardship?

One snowy night, he tried to run away and fought Xuan Yuanxian.

Defeated.

One day, during an academy examination, he challenged Xuan Yuanxian.

Defeated.

He couldn’t beat him in a fight or win an argument. Should he just admit defeat?

But:

Xuan Yuanxian was full after three bites, while he could polish off three bowls in one meal.

Xuan Yuanxian got drunk after one sip, while three jars were just an appetizer for him.

Tell him, how could he lose?

What? Xuan Yuanxian was so upset about him usurping the throne that he ate one less bite?

He scrambled back to his bedroom, dropped to his knees, and wrapped his arms around Xuan Yuanxian’s leg, begging:

“Big brother, my dear big brother, please, can’t you eat just one more bite?”

Looking for Historical Danmei!!!

Cultivation or ancient settings are both fine, but it has to be either a story with two male leads or no CP. I feel like I can’t find anything with good writing and sound logic that’s both heartbreaking and sweet. It needs to fit the topic... I’m really not interested in anything anymore... Either a BE or HE is fine. Please save me!!!!!

BL, Powerful Ministers, the World Is in My Hands

I want something similar to Marrying the Farmer Tyrant as His Contract Brother. He rises step by step through the imperial examinations, originally hoping to live a good life, but the powerful toy with him. In the end, he becomes a powerful minister, while the people above him can be replaced at will. A satisfying power fantasy, and preferably with no angst in the romance. I am practically dying to read something like this. Please, someone...
