The Record of Wukong's Origins

After completing the scriptures, Wukong was named Victorious Fighting Buddha. With the headband removed, he wandered freely through the Three Realms. Then one day, he remembered that every human and immortal had past and present lives. Who had he been in a previous life? From the Bull Demon King, Wukong learned that he had once been an ancient god. Even more astonishingly, the White Bone Spirit had been his wife in that previous life. The monsters he had slain along the way had all been his former friends. The reason Wukong had been sent to fetch the scriptures was that the Tathagata and the Jade Emperor had set up this scheme to make him turn against everyone he had known in his past life. After learning the truth, Wukong immediately rebelled against Heaven. From that moment on, a new war between gods and demons began across the Three Realms.
