I Never Finished Elementary School, Yet I Preached My Way to Sainthood in Journey to the West

"Funny, lighthearted, ridiculous, absurd, and full of wild misunderstandings"

In the world of Journey to the West, I was imprisoned by the Tiger, Deer, and Sheep Immortals from the start, then awakened a System that made me stronger every time I gave a sermon.

To stay alive, I had no choice but to pretend to be a mighty demon, even though I never finished elementary school. I taught the demons and waited for the immortals to come rescue me.

“If you don’t work hard when you’re young, you’ll end up sad when you’re old. So tell me: why does it have to be the oldest who ends up sad? Why not the second or third?”

“This is clearly discrimination against the oldest!”

Immortal Tiger Power: “My cultivation skyrocketed after listening to Mr. Zhang’s lessons. I think he’s a genuinely good person!”

Immortal Deer Power: “I’m firmly on Mr. Zhang’s side. He always has the demon race’s interests at heart!”

Immortal Sheep Power: “I choose Mr. Zhang! He’s the only one who can lead us all the way to the moon!”

Years later, Zhang Gaofeng watched as one immortal after another arrived, only to be beaten down by the demons.

In the end, the demons even stormed Heaven and proclaimed him ruler of the Demon Court.

Zhang Gaofeng surveyed the gathered Demon Saints and fell silent for a moment. “That’s right, I’ll come clean. I really am the Demon Emperor.”
