The Rain Hasn't Stopped, and I'm Still Here

Aloof lawyer Lu Yiheng VS levelheaded reporter Xu Mumu

Six years ago, someone framed Lu Yiheng’s parents. They had been ordinary employees at the Hua Group, but were fired and shunned by everyone. Unable to bear it all, they took their own lives on a rainy night.

The moment Lu Yiheng saw his parents’ bodies, he swore to clear their names. His eyes red, hatred consuming him, he suddenly realized the rain had stopped falling on his head. He looked up and met a pair of clear eyes. “Big brother, you’re soaked.”

Six years later, Lu Yiheng had become a lawyer, just as he’d hoped. He had gathered all the evidence about what happened to his parents. As a crowd surrounded him, asking why he had become a lawyer, the rain began to fall again. A pink umbrella appeared over his head. “I believe Uncle Lu and Auntie didn’t do it.”

You may have forgotten, but on a rainy night in 2015, you held an umbrella over me and walked me home. Yet when we met again in high school, you looked at me like I was a stranger.

There was something different about the way he looked at me, but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was.
