Also known as: Why Do I Still Have to Work After Bugging My Way to Godhood!
[Loads of headcanons + gaming classes + ensemble cast + morally gray characters + an inconspicuous System + “saving” the five members of the Police Academy group + max-level golden fingers + people who just want to have fun]
The unserious version:
Eight people who couldn’t piece together one functioning family between them were signed to a contract by their unscrupulous boss, the System, then tossed into the Detective Conan world to fend for themselves.
The eight’s motto: finish the mission as soon as possible, take over the world’s source as soon as possible, and retire as soon as possible.
The one thing all eight hate: little brats.
The one thing all eight enjoy: tormenting Conan, or watching Conan get tormented.
Sometimes, when they’re in the mood, they also want to make sure everyone in Japan is someone they know.
All in all, it’s a pretty ideal life before retirement. Of course, that’s assuming they don’t get in the mood and start fighting with their god-tier gear.
The serious version:
When someone who has never known love finds a round-trip ticket to another world, they can seize it without hesitation.
That’s what I thought, too. So when the System came knocking, I signed the contract without a second thought.
One clause caught my attention: “The contractor may use their current-world gaming accounts as golden fingers.”
If a gaming account was allowed, then surely a game I developed myself would suit me even better.
The System must have realized that, too, but it didn’t interfere with my choice. That’s how Domain was born, through a bugged-out loophole.
When I took out my ticket again, I found seven others standing beside me, each holding one of their own. All the tickets had the same destination, and none had a return-trip symbol...
Having like-minded friends is one of the great joys of retirement.
