Siheyuan: From the Start as a Chef

The mountain ladder rigged up by Chen Yulou's Xiling team was a little far away, but fortunately, there were plenty of vines near the cave entrance. Chen Yulou grabbed one and gave it a test. Finding it sturdy enough, he let go of the ** in his hand and swung into the cave using the vine. Zhang Xingzhen followed right behind.

Carrying Yin Xinyue on one shoulder, he followed the vines into the cave, with Hong Guniang and Hua Maguai close behind.

But the rest of the Xiling members were at a loss. They simply weren't skilled enough to make the jump.

With no other choice, Chen Yulou poked his head out of the cave and instructed them, “First, send a group up to the mountaintop, then lower a hanging ladder. The rest of you should hurry and dig out all the medicinal herbs from this cliff. After all, everything you dig up can be exchanged for silver!”

Once everything was arranged, Chen Yulou and Zhegu Shao began surveying the cave.

The cave was damp, cold, and gloomy. Signs of human excavation covered its walls, but it didn't extend very far inward. The far end was visible from the entrance.
