Broke as Hell, So Why Bother Cultivating?

You’re broke, so what the hell are you cultivating immortality for? You spend your whole life rushing around, and your greatest accomplishment is acting as a courier for society’s money, only to end up as fodder for one scheme after another. By the time you die, you’ve barely managed to keep yourself fed and clothed, having spent your entire life creating profits for people higher up the ladder.

Human kindness, if it exists, only shows up when people have plenty to eat and wear. Otherwise, people are vicious and brutal. That’s the law of the jungle, plain and simple.
