The Little Lucky Star in Our Family

The day my younger brother was born,

Dad won 100,000 yuan playing cards, and Mom found a gold bracelet.

They were convinced my brother was a lucky star sent to them by heaven,

while I, born on the same day, sickly and frail with a sallow complexion, was seen as a jinx.

Later, they gave me to an auntie from our village, and I left that family.

But life didn't bring them the endless good fortune they had hoped for.
