Love Gone Wrong

On the day Xia Youyou and I got engaged, she went to deliver cold medicine to the man she had always loved instead.

At the engagement party, everyone treated me like a joke.

At last, I understood that my devotion meant nothing to her.

My heart sank.

Just then, her aunt, Xia Yuetong, took my hand and gently slipped a ring onto my finger.

“I love you. Marry me.”

Xia Youyou regretted it, dropping to her knees with red-rimmed eyes and begging me to forgive her.

“I was wrong. Please forgive me.”

But I had long since lost all hope in her, and now she was frantically declaring her love for me.
