The Mark of the Broken Brow

The Marquis of Dingyuan, Xia Shao, was falsely accused of rebellion by a treacherous villain, and his entire family was sentenced to death. His second daughter, Xia Zelan, and his son, Xia Lingyun, received word and fled in time, escaping execution. But the road ahead was filled with danger. Xia Zelan and the others were pursued by bandits, and while fleeing them, she fell off a cliff. As luck would have it, she survived and was rescued by Zhang Teng, though she struck the space between her brows and was left with a split eyebrow. Was someone with a split eyebrow really a harbinger of misfortune? Would she truly be unable to clear her father's name? From village to county town to the capital, Xia Zelan persevered step by step until she finally received an imperial edict rehabilitating her father. She looked at Zhang Teng, a little shy, but above all happy.
