In medieval Europe, tomb raiders used the slang term "pilgrimage" for grave robbing. Young nobleman Anthony falls on hard times and is reduced to making a living through "pilgrimages." To make matters worse, on his very first expedition into a Roman tomb, he digs up the resurrected tomb owner, Arthas, who beats him up and forces him to listen to the tragic love story of his affair with a priestess. In the end, Anthony is even forced to help find the grave of Arthas’s lover, who died a thousand years ago.
To help Arthas find his lover’s grave, Anthony breaks into countless deadly tombs, where he gets thrashed by reanimated corpses, uh, no, werewolves, vampires, and evil spirits. Fortunately, they meet the loli witch Ico in a werewolf tomb. She’s incredibly powerful and saves the day every time. The trouble is, Ico has no ambition and is only interested in two things: Arthas, and Arthas’s cooking. With these two deadweights in tow as he searches for the lover who vanished a thousand years ago, Arthas is exhausted.
