Reborn as a Palace Maid to Fight My Own Wicked Empress

I was the Empress Dowager, keeping all the fox spirits in the palace firmly in line. I even had the spineless emperor so bewitched that he was utterly devoted to me, and I ruled from behind the curtain.

I was already renowned far and wide and had kept the emperor under my thumb for years. So why did the man who always did as I said suddenly defy me for the sake of a woman?

Furious, I tried every trick in the book, and in the end had her banished to the Cold Palace, where she threw herself down a well and died. Just as I was congratulating myself, I woke up after a wonderfully restful sleep and stretched lazily...

“What?! How did I turn into that fox spirit?”
