Bone Gazing

In ancient times, there was a form of meditation called Contemplation of the White Bones.

It involved envisioning your own body as a skeleton, thereby seeing that the Five Aggregates are empty and that all worldly forms are nothing but bones. This practice was said to bring many wondrous benefits.

But this method of contemplation has been lost for many years. Those who later claimed to have mastered it were mostly frauds who never understood its true essence.

I once heard someone say that when he was young, he met a woman who practiced Contemplation of the White Bones, and that some very sinister, strange things happened between them.
