A collection of short stories in vernacular written by Feng Menglong. "Tongyan to Warn the World", together with "Mingyan to Awaken the World" completed earlier by the author, and "Everlasting Words to Awaken the World" completed later, are collectively known as "Three Words". It is usually also called "Three Words and Two Pai" together with Ling Shuchu's "Second Pai", namely "Surprise at the First Moment" and "Surprise at the Second Moment". It is a classic masterpiece in the history of ancient Chinese literature.
