For example, businessmen become rich from bad luck, and scholars become famous from poverty; upright officials resolve cases like gods, corrupt officials bend the law like tigers; villains commit adultery and seek lawsuits, and swindlers engage in intrigues... The language is simple and concise, the plot is twists and turns, confusing, but reasonable; the characterization is meticulous and the artistic image is lifelike. The author also wrote "The Surprise of Two Moments", both of which are collectively called "Er Pai"; together with Feng Menglong's "Ming Yan", "Everlasting Words to Warn the World" and "Awakening Words", they are collectively known as "Three Words and Two Pai". These works have a very high status in the history of Chinese literature, comparable to the four famous works!
