The Duchess’s Everyday Unmasking

[Reborn + both leads are each other’s first and only + sweet flirtation + forced marriage + secret love fulfilled + mutual devotion]

The irreverent version:

What’s it like to fall in love with your own husband while wearing the face of the Princess Royal?

The serious version:

The whole world knows I love her,

But she has never known.

The chaotic version:

Zhi Rang: “A melon forced off the vine isn’t sweet!”

Ji Huaiye: “Once I pick it, it’s mine. Who cares if it’s sweet?”

Zhi Rang: “You love me but won’t say it. If the Duke’s mouth is no use, he can donate it.”

Ji Huaiye: “Who says it’s no use? Don’t I need it when I kiss you?”

Zhi Rang: “I don’t love you, but I can marry you and let you take concubines without getting jealous.”

Ji Huaiye: “I love you, but I refuse to say it. Hey, I’m just having fun.”

Zhi Rang: “You’re so secretly passionate. Does your wife know?”

Ji Huaiye: “My wife has already drowned. Didn’t you know?”

[The male lead is aloof and decisive in killing in public, but behind closed doors he pouts, acts cute, is secretly passionate, and loves to flirt. The female lead has a secret identity, but it gets exposed quickly. She loves to act cute and make snarky comments. The overall tone is slice-of-life, without many dramatic twists. The characters and plot are simple, and both leads always say what they mean, so there are no misunderstandings.]

In one word: sweet!
