Qin Xi, a modern office worker, unexpectedly transmigrates into the ancient world as Qin Xi, the frail and delicate Third Miss of the Duke of An's household. She is sent to the Duke of Ying's residence to bring good luck to the Seventh Young Master of the Tang family. She assumes a tragic life awaits her, one spent fading away in the inner chambers of a sprawling manor. But who could have expected such a twist? Tang Qi is not destined to die, and the clouds will eventually part to reveal the sun. Just as everyone expects her and Tang Yi to weather the storms together, the story takes an unexpected turn. The mysterious, aloof Fourth Prince, who always keeps others at a distance, has secretly come to Qin Xi's aid time and again, and feelings quietly begin to blossom. Caught between Tang Yi, her gentle companion through life and death, and the powerful, devoted Fourth Prince who commands the world, Qin Xi is torn.
But the story does not end there. Just as Qin Xi struggles to make her choice, she discovers that her transmigration was no accident. An invisible hand seems to be controlling everything, and the tangled fates of her, Tang Yi, and the Fourth Prince were written into destiny's script many years ago. Will she rise up and break free from the shackles of fate, or follow Heaven's will and sink into this love and hate?
