Walking Alone in Dreams

“What do you think the world is like after death?”

“Like... someone crossing a deserted desert and never finding their way out.”

“What about being alive?”

“Like walking alone in a dream.”

“Seems... not so different.”

“Then do you want to die?”

“No.”

“But everyone has to die eventually.”

“I know. That’s why I want to live, and hope that one day I’ll dream of that desert again.”

“Why dream of the desert? It’s nothing but endless yellow sand. There’s nothing fun about it.”

“But you’re there.”

“Where you are isn’t a desert, and I won’t be walking alone...”
