[Urban supernatural powers + lighthearted comedy + mystery + passionate action] Beneath the bustling city, little-known supernatural incidents occur one after another. Ugly demons and monsters wreak havoc, while mythological figures from beyond Great Xia invade.
Who is silently protecting Great Xia's peace?
Taibai Jinxing: "Congratulations, you've become a Heavenly Court undercover agent in the mortal realm! It's up to you to maintain peace among humanity and save all life in the universe!"
[Ding! Congratulations on activating the Heavenly Court System. Divine weapons, elixirs, spells: it has everything!]
Yan Wushuang: "A Heavenly Court civil servant? Joining the 749 Bureau, a secret state agency? Wiping out evil? Guarding the universe?"
Years later.
Taibai Jinxing: "Yan Wushuang, you've slain countless enemies and earned merit defending the realm. I hereby appoint you as the ruler of the Heavenly Court: the Jade Emperor!"
Yan Wushuang: "Um, could I... maybe not be the Jade Emperor?"
Taibai Jinxing: "The outer-realm battlefield is on the verge of falling. If the main universe is overrun, billions of lives will be plunged into eternal darkness! Only you can save this universe!"
