[The representative work of Zhang Zhicong, the master of the Qiantang Medical School in the Qing Dynasty and the famous master of traditional Chinese medicine]
The book "Collected Commentary on Suwen of the Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" laid the foundation for the development of traditional Chinese medicine, discussed in detail the relevant contents of human physiology, pathology, diagnosis and treatment, and highlighted ancient philosophical thoughts. A simplified Chinese version was published in 1956. This book was compiled by Zhang Zhicong, together with dozens of classmates and disciples. Zhang and his disciples collectively annotated and elaborated sentence by sentence based on the original text of "Su Wen". "All chapters and sentences in the sutra are explained harmoniously and clearly." This book proves and explains the meaning of the "Huangdi Nei Jing Su Wen", and makes complementary comparisons before and after, so as to comprehensively understand the purport of the scripture and avoid the disadvantage of "imposing the classic on one's own". He does not stick to literal explanations, and does not insist on detailed exegeses, but seeks clear medical principles and good expression of his own opinions. As the saying goes, "Don't copy what the predecessors coughed up, and don't save the dross of ancient opinions." The book has unique insights into the interpretation of the theories of yin and yang, viscera, qi and blood, and qi transformation in the "Huangdi Nei Jing Su Wen".
