Liu Xuan'er, an extraordinary young woman raised in a Taoist temple, has mastered Taoist arts such as drawing talismans, catching ghosts, fortune-telling, and divination under the tutelage of Master Zhang, a Taoist priest skilled in many arts. After she leaves the temple in ever worse repair, her master “kicks” her down the mountain to gain experience.
When she first arrives in Dongzhuang, her Taoist skills win her fame. Despite the doubts of those around her, she successfully saves Old Li, who has been possessed by a female ghost. Her reputation spreads from the small towns nearby all the way to the ears of the wealthy in Beicheng.
Beicheng tycoon Zhou Zhen hears about Liu Xuan'er's extraordinary abilities and sends for her with an ulterior motive. But she sees through his many evil deeds at a glance and firmly refuses to help. Enraged and humiliated, Zhou Zhen tries to kill her.
When Liu Xuan'er wakes again, she discovers she has transmigrated into the body of Liu Ruyan, an obscure actress. Though Liu Ruyan is breathtakingly beautiful, her acting is mediocre. After years of struggling in show business, she has never made it big and is known as a “pretty airhead.”
Watch as Liu Xuan'er, armed with her mystical arts and formidable skills, turns the tables and makes everyone who once looked down on her see her in a new light.
