“Please wait a moment.”

“Huh? Is something wrong?”

“You’re suspected of carrying prohibited goods. Please cooperate with our investigation.”

“Prohibited goods”?

Hu Chen stared at the stern-faced customs officer across from him, completely dumbfounded.

He’d just come back from a meeting. How had he ended up with “prohibited goods”?

“Officer, are you sure you haven’t made a mistake?”

The customs officer pointed to the item on the table. “Is this the luggage you checked in?”

Hu Chen nodded.

The customs officer opened the package and showed Hu Chen what was inside. “Can you confirm these items belong to you?”

Hu Chen took a look. They were indeed the souvenirs he had bought for 500 yuan at a local specialty shop to bring back for his boss: a pair of antelope horns.

Hu Chen had only just nodded when he heard the customs officer say, “Take him away.”

Hu Chen was stunned. Could someone please tell me what on earth is going on?

I just bought a local souvenir. How did I end up under arrest?
