Transmigrate to Exorcise Ghosts, Subdue Demons, and Cultivate the Right Path

An overworked modern wage slave transmigrates to a low-level cultivation world. After waking up, Sang Zhi unexpectedly gets a System to help him out. The System's opening task is to catch ghosts? What? To become a Celestial Master in Taoism, you have to undergo initiation and receive a register, invoking the gods above and reporting to the underworld below. And those registers come in different ranks. Then I'll just be a rogue cultivator. As long as I don't die, I'll cultivate like my life depends on it. Who cares what realm I'm in? He has no interest in attaining an immortal rank in Taoism. He'd rather wander the world, from one lake or mountain to the next. What? There are spirit stones and pills as rewards too? Then I'll grab my blade and hack those ghosts and monsters to pieces, leveling up and picking up gear along the way. I'm crushing it!!
