With the Lu Ban Manual in Hand, One of the Five Trades Must Be Missing

The first page of The Lu Ban Manual contains just five words: “widower, widow, orphan, childless, disabled.” There is nothing else.

Since ancient times, anyone who wished to study and practice the arts in this book had to suffer one of the five fates: becoming disabled, losing a spouse, or living alone. For this reason, The Lu Ban Manual is also known as the Book of the Missing One.

“I never wanted to touch the Lu Ban Manual, but everything had already been decreed by fate.”
