As a second-generation educated youth, I know very well the difficult but passionate years of my parents' generation. They shed sweat in the vast world and forged their tenacity and responsibility. And this spirit also guided me like a beacon as I grew up. I will carry their expectations, bravely face the challenges of life, and inherit the persistence of ideals and love for life.

A relatively positive novel about educated youth, very down-to-earth and well written. I was also an educated young man of that era, but I regretted not going to the countryside. My brothers and sisters have just personally experienced that experience with historical memory. However, in this novel, we can understand the echoes of youth tempered by the years of life of educated youth - Comment on Yan Youxian's "Review of Educated Youth" Yan Youxian's "Review of Educated Youth" is a novel with a profound sense of history and a clear mark of the times. With delicate brushstrokes, it truly reproduces the youthful years of the educated youth during that special period, and unfolds for us a picture full of hardship, struggle, confusion and hope. The novel vividly displays all aspects of the life of educated youth through the experiences of the protagonists. From bustling cities to remote villages, the huge contrast in environment puts the newly arrived educated youths through a double test of body and soul. The author did not deliberately beautify this period of history, but objectively described the sweat and tears of the educated youths in hard labor, and their persistence and endurance under simple living conditions. The day-to-day field work, interactions with farmers, and longing for hometown are all described in a delicate and realistic manner, as if readers can travel through time and space and personally experience the suffering of that era. In terms of character creation, Yan Youxian's image of the educated youth is three-dimensional and full. They are no longer single heroes or victims, but young people with complex emotions and distinctive personalities. Some educated youths show perseverance in the face of difficulties, strive to adapt to rural life, and contribute to local development; others struggle in confusion and are full of confusion about the future. These characters allow us to see that in that special era background, every educated youth has his own story and his own growth and transformation. The theme of the novel is profound and connotative. It is not only a review of the years of educated youth, but also a profound reflection on youth, ideals, and the value of life. In that era of material scarcity and spiritual depression, the educated youth used their youth to interpret their persistent pursuit of ideals. Their experiences make us understand that although youth is full of ups and downs and setbacks, it is these experiences that shape our lives, allowing us to grow through hardships and find our own value in difficulties. At the same time, the novel also reflects the changes of the times and the development of society, making us cherish our current life more. From the perspective of artistic characteristics, Yan Youxian's language is simple but extremely contagious. He did not use gorgeous words, but told touching stories in plain words. This simple language style complements the theme of the novel and makes it easier for readers to relate to it. In addition, the novel's compact structure and ups and downs of plot always maintain its appeal to readers. "Review of Educated Youth" is a novel worth reading. It allows us to review that special history and feel the youthful passion and fighting spirit of the educated youth. At the same time, it also allows us to think more deeply about life, inspiring us to face difficulties bravely and pursue our ideals in our own lives.
