Dream of the Red Chamber: After Becoming Lady Jia, the Jia Family Rises Again

Q: What would you do if you transmigrated into the Dream of the Red Chamber as Grandmother Jia?

A: Two things: 1. Preserve the Jia family's glory. 2. Take little Sister Lin out to eat, drink, and, uh, have fun.

Q: How would you preserve the Jia family's glory?

A: The simple, direct way? Kill Jia She, Jia Zhen, Jia Rong, Jia She, Jia Lian, Jia Huan, Jia Cong, Qian Hua, Wu Jinxiao...

Q: Isn't that a bit too direct?

A: Then kill Jia She and Jia Zhen, put the inner household in order, win the people's hearts, educate the younger generation, stockpile grain and train troops, ally with the three great families, overthrow the Qing and restore the Ming, and conquer all seven continents.

Q: I think you might be joking.

A: You started it.

After transmigrating into Grandmother Jia, Lin Qiuyan went on to accomplish one great deed after another:

She put the inner household in order and secured the title of commandery princess for Daiyu.

She sent people to find Zhen Shiyin, and in the end, father and daughter were reunited.

She founded a charitable home for children and took in countless poor children with nowhere to go.

She added martial arts, foreign languages, farming, and mathematics to the school curriculum, so every student could learn a useful skill.

She told Wang Xifeng that people should put themselves first, and told Jia Huan that he was a son of the Jia family and must never give up on himself or wallow in self-pity.

At the same time, she did plenty of bad things, too:

Jia Zhen and Jia She were depraved and debauched, so she personally orchestrated their deaths.

Jia Lian refused to mend his ways, so she simply made sure Feng and Lian divorced. Jia Lian left with nothing, while Wang Xifeng became her god-granddaughter.

She did many things in this world, and when it was time for her to leave, everyone truly cared for her.

(Overthrowing the Qing and restoring the Ming is just a joke. Also, the heroine isn't clever and can be a bit of a naive, sensitive crybaby. She's not good at scheming and likes to win people over emotionally. The author often rambles at the end of chapters, so if that bothers you, please don't complain.)
