In the 2070s, humanity made major advances in physics. Instead of exploring space, people turned to excavating deep beneath the Earth. But when they reached the mantle, they sensed something strange: there seemed to have once been a civilization inside the Earth. Vast ruins stood amid the magma, their technology far beyond anything humanity knew. Even the laws of theory did not seem to apply there.
