Huang Youcai, a boy from a remote mountain village, earned a master’s degree in medicine. When his mentor stole credit for his drug research and suppressed him, he jumped off a cliff and was rescued by Nanxing. Later, drug traffickers forced him to join them. He appeared to be developing drugs, but secretly fed information to the police. During another operation, his girlfriend, Nanxing, was killed by the traffickers while saving him. He was then hunted by the traffickers and Shangguan Tong, the daughter of a newly graduated military officer. Unhappy with her father’s arrangements, she had left home on her own to become a narcotics officer. At a cliff in the mountains of Southwest China, where time and space twisted and shifted, a struggle sent them unexpectedly transmigrating to a past life. Their genders changed, and as they fought through the struggle between times, they loved and hated each other, relying on one another to survive! Shangguan Tong grew through betrayal and loss. In the end, she discovered that everything had been a plot by Lin Yuxiu. After being rescued, Shangguan Tong gained many insights into life. Having misunderstood Huang Youcai, she sent Yuxiu to prison once she learned the truth, but she had already lost the one she loved most. Sick with longing, she wasted away and died. A dream of reincarnation in a past life, a thousand miles of searching, and no way back!
