After Zhu Yihai, the supervisor of the Southern Ming Dynasty, lost his country, he lived in seclusion in Kinmen and the mountains along the Fujian coast. Both the Qing court and Taiwan's Zheng Jing sent a large number of warriors to search for Zhu Yihai's whereabouts. This led to a series of tragedies and comedies in which national hatred and family feud turned into love and hatred.
