Reborn as the Queen of Film and Television

[No CP + Strong female lead + Industry-focused + Slow burn + Career-focused] After working hard to reach the final year of her PhD, she unexpectedly came back to life after a sudden shooting. Standing once more at a crossroads, Lin Nian abandoned academia: “This stupid PhD? Whoever wants it can have it!” In this life, she would leave writing behind and pursue the arts, entering a completely unfamiliar field. But behind the glittering silver screen lay nothing but cruelty no one ever saw: female stars seemed surrounded by admirers, but were as helpless as food sizzling over a raging fire; the film industry was already locked into rigid circles, with power firmly held in men’s hands. If an actress wanted to make it, she had no choice but to fight tooth and nail for resources in television dramas. From an unknown actress groveling for roles to a decision-maker who took charge and created her own projects, Lin Nian always believed that women could hold up half the sky. She was determined to become the one who chose others in an industry where “women can only be chosen”: “My lead will be a woman, my screenwriter will be a woman, my director will be a woman, and my entire behind-the-scenes team will be women!” She would build an all-female film and television company of her own and break the shackles the industry placed on women. But acting, making movies, and investing in projects were only her short-term goals. Lin Nian’s ultimate ambition was far greater than anyone imagined: “I want more than a say in the film and television industry. I want to own a cinema chain of my own, so more stories about women, made by women, have a place to shine.”
