Liu Moyan, a middle school student, dies unexpectedly and is reborn in the body of a little puppy on the Lingze Continent. After being bullied and beaten, he is rescued by Leng Yue, his first love and the second female lead. Not long afterward, Leng Yue leaves to study martial arts, giving Liu Moyan a spirit jade. The artifact spirit inside, Qing He, forms a contract with Liu Moyan, and they cultivate together. Along the way, he meets a little Azure Dragon and unexpectedly gains the miraculous power of the “Origin Pearl.” After transforming into human form, he kills Elder Jin of the Kunlun Immortal Sect, beginning a life on the run. During his journey, he meets the mischievous and clever heroine, Hu Su Xuewu of the fox clan. Xuewu falls deeply in love with him, but Liu Moyan can't forget Leng Yue. Later, he reunites with Leng Yue and promises to spend his life with her, only for her to grievously wound him and steal the golden core from his body. With Liu Moyan on the brink of death, Xuewu is willing to sacrifice her life to save him. When Leng Yue learns that she is the daughter of a demon-clan protector, she can't accept the truth and turns dark. Later, she comes to her senses, returns the golden core, and flies away as a butterfly. Liu Moyan and Xuewu then settle down in a medicinal herb garden, drinking and laughing together every day with his beloved wife by his side, and living a dog's life to the fullest.
