The Frost Banner

Does the age make the hero, or does the hero make the age?

If the age makes the hero, then during years 160–170 of the Mortal Era, the most turbulent period in the continent's history, remarkable people certainly emerged in droves. In the northern lands alone, there was a young king whose reputation was hotly debated, a legendary strategist known as “Northern Snow, Bright Moon,” the Frost Regiment, which raised its banner in the far north and cowed the world, and the Sleepless Regiment, which guarded the lands south of the north.

If the hero makes the age, then it was indeed Wei Wuji, the fourth Snow King of the Northern Lands, who won the trust of the people across the realm and raised the banner of rebellion against the immortals. Without the legendary woman Nie Qingyu taking in An Fei, leader of the Frost Regiment, perhaps the regiment would never have existed. And if An Fei had not founded “Braving Wind and Snow,” many of the Frost Regiment's later famed figures might never have appeared in the historical records of this era.

“Frost City in the Northern Lands, where we brave wind and snow. Whatever your status or strength, all who are kind-hearted, alone and without support, or homeless are welcome.”
