The Regent’s power was so great that it threatened the throne, and his only son, He Youyang, was poisoned.
As he lay at death’s door, the ugly maid Mi Yi showed up pregnant and demanded marriage, claiming that only she could cure the heir’s poison.
Desperate to save her beloved son, the Regent’s wife, Qi Shujin, had no choice but to agree.
During a test staged by the royal family, Mi Yi revealed a beauty that could outshine the world.
She possessed a jade bangle left behind by the Empress Dowager, which concealed a space called the “Modern Era.” The blood feud she carried could only be avenged under the identity of the heir’s wife.
At first,
He Youyang said, “Marry me? Keep dreaming!”
Qi Shujin said, “You’re not worthy of being my daughter-in-law.”
But in the end,
He Youyang took her hand. “Yi’er, would you marry me willingly?”
