Black Earth: The Legend of Godhood

(I've added a bit of everything: the Foundation, Project Moon, the grotesque, the Lovecraftian, and so on. A small-time workshop has to go all out with the ingredients.)

At the beginning of time, patterns in the chaos gave rise to countless “worlds,” each one ruled by a “Lord” who is “all-knowing and all-powerful.”

In this world called Black Earth, the Lords have three thousand faces, each different from the others. They are the gods. Anyone who has been gazed upon by a god or prayed to one can receive endless “blessings.” But people know nothing of this, and call them “anomalies.”
